Mouse and mouse cage - a (small) pet for your doll

This is just so cuuute!

You will need:
1. A straw berry basket
2. Thin cardboard
3. Yellow/tan paper
4. Pom poms
5. Pony beads
6. Aluminum foil
7. A paper towel roll
8. Paint and puffy paint
9. Mod podge
10. Scraps of felt and yarn
11. Wire
12. Duck tape
13. Hot glue, pencil, and scissors
(I hope I got it all)

Step 1. Cut some parts so there is a little door that opens up, like in the pic.

Step 2. Trace the basket upside down on the cardboard, a little larger than it actually is.

Step 3. Cut it out, and glue some walls on it to make a tray.

Make sure the basket can fit in the tray.

Step 4. Paint and mod podge the tray. cut some strips of yellow or tan paper, put mod podge in the tray, and put the paper on the mod podge, ans drip/spread more mod podge on top.

Now it should look like this.

Step 5. Fold up some aluminum foil...

...Spread it out flat...

...and wrap around a pony bead, so it looks likes this.

Step 6.Spread the top out flat....

....and trim it, so you have a little bowl.

Step 7. Now make your mouse out of pom poms and scraps of felt and yarn.

Make it a little face out of puffy paint.

Step 8. Glue three transparent blue beads on top of each other.

Make tiny little L with the wire, and wrap it in duck tape. Glue it in to the bottom of the beads. This is the little water bottle.

Step 9. Put your mouse in the cage and glue the little water bottle so the little mouse can drink.

Step 10. Cut an end off the paper towel roll about an inch wide.

Glue some thin strips of felt or craft foam in them.

Step 11. Glue some tooth pick spokes to a pony bead and glue it to the side.

Step 12. Paint the wheel and spokes. I made mine blue and black.

Step 13. Glue a pony bead to a bit of tooth pick or barbecue skewer and stick it through the side of the basket.

Stick the wheel on it, and adjust so the bottom will be almost on the floor.

Once you have it in the right place, glue another bead on it so it will spin without coming off.

Now you're done!

Elizabeth is very excited to have a pet mouse!

*munch munch*

*slurp suck*

*pant pant squeak! pant pant squeak!*

Say 'hello' squeaky!

She loves her little mouse.

In ya go!

The Gems of power - Part 1

Hey ya'll! I'm starting my new photo story series! I've wanted to do a really cool photo story series like....
Loren's story, the Serpents
Jaclynn's  pirate stories 1, 2, and 3
Clara's  story, the small ones
...and of  course, the guiding compass.
(Read them all! It will only take, an hour?)

And I finally got an idea! Yay! I will post a new part every Saturday, there are 8 parts in it.
Cast:
Kit - Amy
Ruthie - Medea
Misty - the unicorn
...and various playmobil as fairies
And now, The Gems of power!!!!

The evening it all started, I was out taking a walk in the forest. Relaxing and escaping from the world. I was especially stressed that day, so I had walked farther than I meant to. I leaned against a tree and sighed.

I heard a rustling in the trees and looked up. Was that a horn I saw poking out?

Then it's whole head came out. A unicorn!

I stepped forward very, very slowly. And very, very slowly, I extended my hand until I was stroking her. "Hello." I said quietly. We just stared for the longest time.

Then she came out and knelt, gesturing with her head that I should get on her back. I mounted nervously, I had only ridden a few times before, and never bare back!

She started galloping, so fast it made my eyes sting. I leaned in and griped her mane as tight as I could, and tried to get my nerves and stomach under control.

All of a sudden, we burst in to a meadow, a magical looking meadow, if you know what I mean.
"Where are we..." I murmured.

Then the unicorn whinnied nervously, and suddenly tiny little people jumped out of the grass, surrounding us. They all had long ropes, weapons, and grim faces except for the woman in the middle, right in front. She carried a staff, and looked furious.
**************************************************************
My siblings say that it's great, but they are mad because I won't tell them what happens next. >:D The next part is next Saturday! Was that good, or was it bad? Not the suspense, but the story in general. How was it?

Going to America - the special post

Sorry I didn't post this before! I couldn't figure out how to make the background for some of the winter stuff, so I gave up after a few rants and driving my family crazy asking for suggestions. Any way, here you go!

I made the outfits out of a combination of Kirsten's collection and stuff we made!

I made the basket like THESE ones, but I used a tan color. The napkin and dumpling thing are from Addy's lunch, the bread is model magic textured with a piece of gravel and painted crust, I made the apples HERE, and the cheese is squares of yellow craft foam and a hole punch.

Here are the pets! The birds in a cage, and the cats in baskets with mini quilts.

Kit will show you some of the stuff in her chest.

I can see a quilt, needles and pins in some felt, a small pillow, a wash cloth and soap, a slate, seeds, a fishing pole, photo album, tools, ice skates, a doll, knitting needles, and it is hard to tell but the doll is in a pot and a small wooden bowl.

Kirsten has come in the wagon to pick them up.

They are really excited to see each other!

Kit sits in the front and talks with Kirsten while the girl in the back take off their kerchiefs and get their hair of their necks. It's HOT here in America!

A few weeks later, they have settled on their farms, and are hard at work. Well, most of them...

Kit is fishing. It looks like she caught something, witch is good, she only has one fish!

Ruthie is gardening. She's pretty good!

Elizabeth was supposed to be helping Ruthie, but she found a bunch of flowers, and started tearing them apart, saying "He loves me, he loves me not." and cheering when it ends on "He loves me not." XD

Bye!

Happy first day of June!

Happy first day of June!!! To me, the first day of June should be the first day of summer, I mean, it seems weird that half of June is spring and the other half is summer. Oh, and do you like the new background? *sigh* Our pool is never that clean. And talking of pools, that's our craft! It is just a small inflatable wading pool, but it's a pool! And sorry that there isn't many pics, I ran out of duck tape so I haven't finished mine yet. :/
And I'm posting kinda early today because we are going to a bookstore and I have no idea when we will get back.

You will need:
1. 4 - 6 swim noodles (I seem to be using a lot of those lately. Buy them at the dollar store)
2. A plastic table cloth (I got blue)
3. Blue duck tape
4. Hot glue, parchment paper and an iron

Step 1. Take two noodles, and duck tape them into a circle. Do that with all your noodles.

Step 2. (I thought I had a pic for this step?!) Fold up the plastic table cloth so that it is smaller, but a noodle ring can fit on it. Cover the table cloth with parchment paper and iron it all over so it sticks together like Rudy did HERE.

Step 3. Stack your rings on top of each other, and cover with blue duck tape.

Step 4. Let your hot glue gun get really hot, and follow the picture.
And on that, put the plastic table cloth, flip the whole thing over, and trim the table cloth so there is a bottom for the pool. I really hope you understood that. :P I'm not sure how to put 'water' in it though. :(

Have fun 'swimming' XD
Bye! :)
