10 things that make me happy tag

This is gonna be a fun post. :D

This tag was created by Maya, and I was tagged by Madi! (Madi's post is HERE) The gist is that I list 10 things that make me happy, and then tag 10 people who make me happy. :)

And boy was it hard to narrow down, because so many things make me happy I must
TELL OF THEM ALL.
I considered cheating and having like, 15 things that made me happy, but instead I just included subcategories with each one. XD

I tried to pic pictures that either fit the category, or made me happy. Wayyyyy too many of my pictures made me happy; I need to have a favorite photo post again.

๐ŸŽถSinging๐ŸŽถ
I love to sing. Songs are constantly playing in the back of my mind, (or the front) and I can't help but sing along to them. That also goes for when the radio is on or a disney movie. :D
My little siblings can't stand it when we're watching a disney movie, because I sing along and 'dwown out da pwincesses' like excuse you but I have an AMAZING voice and whaddya mean I'm drowning them out I'm singing under my breath you judgmental squirt. ๐Ÿ˜„
I used to be in the youth choir at church and I looooooved it but then the other four girls in it graduated and we don't have a youth choir anymore. :(
(it was a really small choir XD)
But a good song gives you goose bumps. A good song uplifts your soul and makes you feel like you're soaring. A good song wells up inside you until you can't help but open your mouth and pour it out. Singing makes me happy.

๐Ÿ’œDolls๐Ÿ’œ
I love dolls, any kind of doll, any size. my favorite thing to do is set up someones doll house, barbie house, playmobil house- any kind of toy house. Whenever we're at goodwill, and I see sad porcelain dolls strewn about the shelves, I pick them up, fix their hair and their dress, and line them up nicely on the shelf so they can be seen. Someday I'll be able to afford to bring my favorites home, but until then, I have to live with just talking to them and fixing them up nice. Lego minifigures totally count as a 'doll', and I could write a whole separate post on how much I love legos. (I have a few posts of lego photography! look 'em up!)
And of course I love Kit and Camille, and playing with my sister's dolls. ;D Dolls make me happy.

๐Ÿ“šReading๐Ÿ“–
books!Books!!BOOKS!!! (lol this picture is so old) Reading makes me so so happy. Narnia, Percy Jackson, Eragon, the Rangers Apprentice, Young Samurai, Nancy Drew, Roald Dahl, the Little Princess, the Secret Garden, Pendragon, Harry Potter, the Missing, Lord of the Rings, Keeper of the Lost Cities, and so many others whisked me away to another world, of fantasy, mystery, drama and intrigue. Books make me impossibly sad, or furious, but reading makes me happy.

๐Ÿ“ทPhotography๐Ÿ“ธ
oh how I love photography. I don't have a 'proper' camera, I just have my phone, and before that, an ipod, and I'm satisfied with that, until I see a beautiful sky full of stars✨ I love stars, even though they didn't make it onto this list. :P But I really like the challenge photography poses, this image of how I want something to look in my head, and then the mission to capture it. Seeing something in a different light, different angle, how it tells a story without words. And of course there's a the journey to catch the photograph, lying flat on my stomach on every type of ground, dry, wet, dusty, rocky, arms and neck craned at unnatural positions to get my camera in the right spot. I've stood in water, mud, trees, and one time knelt in a fire ant hill for at least ten minutes to get the lego pics I wanted. Yeah that was fun. XD But the pictures I got was worth it. Photography makes me happy.

✏Drawing✏
Awwwww happy Aidene, right before I send her world crashing down :D *evil laughter*
I've always enjoyed drawing, but never really considered myself as someone who drew. My sister Ivy was always "the artist", but I've been drawing a lot more these past few years, so I think it's safe to say that we're both artists now :) I have a ton of old star wars fannart, and I've drawn some pretty sweet ninjago art recently, and a bunch of stuff for my book, Initiate, and it's sequel, Warrior. It's really fun to draw all these characters that I love, either mine or other peoples, and I get so happy when it's all finished and I've FiNaLlY gOt ThEm To LoOk RiGhT. *deep breath* its cool, I'm cool, its fine. I love to draw. Drawing makes me happy. *studiously ignores broken pencils, leaky pens, wrinkled paper and erasers that don't work*

๐Ÿ’œmy stories๐Ÿฒ
I got a leetle bit into evil author mode up in the drawing section, oops lol. But I love making up my own stories, I've been doing it forever!!! My personal favorite is to take other stories I'm a fan of, make myself a character, (or just Me but with a reason for being there) slap 'em in, and tweak the story just a little bit (or a lot!) so it fits. Apparently this is called fandom OC's. Cool. But I also like to make my own stories, and boy do I have a lot of 'em :D My mom keeps pulling out short stories that I don't even remember writing, though I do remember the one I wrote about that girl who got shut into an Egyptian pyramid, and had to eat all the food they left in there for the pharaoh's afterlife, and only got out when some grave robbers broke in. Now that I think about it, there were an awful lot of holes in there. I should go back and fix it. ๐Ÿค”  I fist tried writing a full on novel when I was 10, and it was this fairy tale feel story with princesses who were half fairy, who have to save the kingdom from their evil half sister, who's half witch. I got maybe halfway through, barely any plot at ALL, and my main characters were as boring as limp noodles. However, it has potential, so I'm going to revamp it later. :) Then I tried to write a star wars fanfic novel. I never finished it, and I realized that several key plot points depended on facts that I'd made up, and contradicted some pretty clear star wars canon. So yeah, that one's staying in the trash. XD I also have a spy/secret agent/ninja/sci-fi/futuristic novel planned, as well as one about some kids who were government experiments, but they escaped. :D Wow I think this is the longest section, I do love talking about my stories. They make me happy.

๐Ÿ’ฅmy favorite movies and shows
I have no idea what to title this one. Other stories??? They're stories, but not books, and not mine, and I love so so many of them. Star Wars, Marvel, Ninjago, oh my :D They suck me in like books, I get attached to the characters, invested in their adventures, die inside when something bad happens and thrive when a dramatic plot twist occurs. ๐Ÿ˜ And I love love love reading crazy theories and noticing parallels. Such fun. They make me happy

๐Ÿ‘—sewing/crafting๐Ÿ‘—
I used to be such a crafter, but it slowed down more once my dolls started overflowing with stuff. XD But there is such a pleasant challenge in getting an idea, and deconstructing it in my head, and then making it! fabric and thread scraps all over the floor, fingers scarred from needle pricks and hot glue, and the pride when its all finished and looking fine. :) There's nothing like being on your hands and knees, cutting out pieces of fabric, then huddled in a chair by the window stitching them together, visions of the next step and the final product dancing in my mind. Crafting makes me happy.

Some people๐Ÿ‘€✌
Yes, SOME people. Not all people, 'cause ew, people. But my exceptions list is very long indeed. (if you're interested in getting on it, just give me food and you're good XD)
I'm an introvert, ok??? I shut down at 9pm, like sorry, I like you but I don't wanna see your face anymore I'm going to bed BYE. And then I need at LEAST an hour by myself in the morning. Its one of the reasons I get up at 6am ya'll, quiet house. XD BUT, I have noticed that my social battery has gotten some sizable upgrades in the past few years, and I enjoy going to most all the church youth events, now that I know the peoples. (only took me six years lol) And then there's my friends, like please, I'm up for a visit anytime, why do you all live so far away??? please message me. XD But yeah, some people do make me happy.

๐Ÿธmemes๐Ÿธ
OMG, MEMES. I love memes, they make me laugh so hard and there are so many of them, so enjoy one made by yours truly. :D I've perfected the art of figuring out the context/scenario/story behind the meme, which I'm sure you can do to, but not as well as me.๐Ÿ˜Œ ain't i humble. XD I'm also of the opinion that incorrect quotes are a type of meme, and I love those as well! You can tell a lot about a character by what part they play lol. But I am rather fond of memes, they make me happy. ;P

So! There we go. If I could, I would food, sleep, cake, road trips, chocolate, fashion, snacks, shopping with grandparents, baking...you get the picture ๐Ÿ˜„

Time to tag ten people that make me happy!
See, this is the difficult part, as I have previously mentioned, I am an unsocial crustacean 98% of the time, and I'm not sure I could even NAME ten bloggers.
ok, I could, but do they all make me happy??? do I light up when they post??? ...not really? (not that I don't like ya'll, you're amazing :))
I could name ten people who make me happy, MAYBE. But they don't have blogs. so instead I found a compromise that satisfies the requirements and also a bet, lol.

So! Ten people who make me happy!
(And I won't cheat and tag Clara again, *cough* madi *cough* but otherwise she would be on here :D)

1. Madi I'm cheating! on the first one! she already did it and tagged me but I need to let you all know what a ray of sunshine this girl is, despite all the storms. ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

2. Hazel, one of my best friends, and does have a blog so hooray :D

3. Percy Jackson a good friend since I was young, always an adventure when he's around. :)

4. Annabeth Chase taught me how to outwit my opponent, and to bring a book in case you get bored. Love getting to see her.

4. Leia can be guaranteed to say something memorable.

5. Padme, her soft heart and impeccable fashion sense are a joy to be around.

6. BABY YODA.

7. Baby Groot.

8. Spiderman, trying his best <3

9. Captain America, upholding the standards America has forgotten

10. Natasha Romanov, just so kICK BUTT AWESOME CAN YOU BELIEVE WE'RE FINALLY GETTING A MOVIE

So there ya go. ๐Ÿ˜„
(did'ja fall out of your chair, madi? XD)

So please, do this tag! Be thankful for the things that bring joy to your life! and hopefully like real people(can and will fight you on the definition of real people :D) more than I do!

Have a great rest of your day!

Everything you want to know about Aidene's adventures :D

Hey ya'll!
Today I'll be doing one of my favorite things- talking about my wip! :D
Also, this is the first time in a long time that I've posted something besides a This Month on Instagram. Hmm. Busy, am I? yes. lazy? .....maybe.
Any way, here we go!
My project is a fantasy trilogy that I've been working on for about two years.
book 1: Initiate
book 2: Warrior
book 3: Hero

And here is a super bad blurb, but I'm not very good at writing blurbs lol I'm sorry

Aidene is excited when she finds a portal into a fantasy world. It's amazing! Just like in books! But the people there are worried about being attacked by mountain trolls, they’re only farmers after all. And when the trolls do attack, they disappear with her new friend’s brother, Matheo. Aidene isn’t ready to be a hero. She doesn't even know if she can. But she wants to help, and when she bonds with a dragon, and becomes  a legendary warrior, she knows she can help. She sets off on a quest to rescue him, with her friend, Mira, her dragon, Amethyst, and two others. But darkness is rising, and Matheo’s disappearance is only the start of it. What other evils are waiting for them? What else will they uncover? Will they be able to rescue Matheo? And worst of all, what if he doesn’t even want to be rescued?

it's absolutely TERRIBLE and I can't find Charis's post on how to write them and googling writing advise is always so daunting. halp.

so instead, I shall tell you that it's a story about disaster kids trying to save the world, ride-or-die friends, getting back up when you get knocked over, and never giving up. It's a story about a world of fear and darkness, and finding and appreciating the buttercups and sunshine. It's a story of dragons and magic and holding on to hope no matter how hard it gets.

All three of these are Aidene, I thought it looked cool to draw 'em like that. ๐Ÿ˜›
she's an optimistic ball of fire and sass, and is the first Dragon Warrior in about a thousand years, so shes got a lot on her shoulders. She would die for her friends in a heart beat, and literally one of the first things she does in the book is ditch the elves and their training schedule to go on a road trip to try and rescue Mira's brother. they have no plan, and only a vague idea of where he is. It's a disaster and i love it. XD
here she is later, after she's slowed down enough to learn somethings and get a totally wicked set of armor. :D
I heard this song called Warrior, by Hannah Kerr, early this spring and it ASTOUNDED me on how well it fits this series! not quite so much in book one, but definitely books 2&3.
it's awesome I love it :D

This is her best friend Mira. she is the most darling child ever, very smol, super soft and sweet ๐Ÿ’› she wants to be a story teller when she grows up, and is great at memorizing things, is also a pretty good healer.

Other characters, who I have not properly drawn are Amethyst, Matheo, Arrow and Cรฉlia.

Amethyst is a purple dragon, she's feisty and sarcastic, Aidene and her make a great team. fun fact: she's absolutely terrified of small lizards.

Matheo is Mira's older brother. lots of secrets about him ๐Ÿ‘€ he's got grand schemes for power, but he doesn't want anything bad to happen to his little sis tho, he's not that heartless.

Arrow. Poor Arrow, I'm kind of mean to him and he doesn't deserve it. XD he's half elf and half human, and pretty much shunned by everyone. His mom, (the human) is dead, and his dad basically disowned him in an attempt to re-gain his standing among the other elves. but he's still really cheerful, and loves and protects his friends because they're literally the only ones he has.

Cรฉlia was Arrow's only friend for the longest time, until Aidene, Mira, and Amethyst came into the picture. (I have a lot of girls on this team ๐Ÿค”) she lost her feet in an accident when she was really young, and now has magic wooden ones. It's not too much of a problem, (until she's around too much fire eheeheehee) and she would have been able to fit in with elf society without too much of a hitch, but she befriended Arrow because she felt bad or him and knew a bit about being different, so now she's like, looked down on since she befriended a shunned person. she's definitely the most mature, she's also quiet, a bit standoff-ish and no-fun zone. It takes a long time to go from tolerating them to actually accepting their friendship.

Oh! Can't forget about my villain! my villain's name is Vivianda. She's a total fantasy evil-scientist, her goal is immortality with a side dish of world domination. She wants attention, immortality, (like I mentioned) and the feeling of control. Her backstory is actually kind of sad, but don't feel bad for her now. By the time the series starts, she's been completely corrupted by dark magic, and will torture you to death "for research" without remorse.

This is Charla Seelom and Sheeril'la. They're legends, the last Dragon Warrior before Aidene finally came along. Charla Seelom's real name has been forgotten- (actually, there might be one elf who still remembers it, but I haven't decided on that or not.) she also came from Aidene's world, just a long time ago. Her stories say that she came to their world through the same magic tree Aidene did, during the war with he-doesn't-have-a-name-yet, became a Dragon Warrior, won the war, (no one know how she defeated him, and she never told) and spent the next 500+ years rebuilding the country, learning and teaching and keeping the peace and justice. She didn't like to talk about her world, and def not her life back there. when she earned the name Charla Seelom, (it mean Dragon Soul in the old language) she took it and never looked back. No one remembers her old name now. And then one day she and Seeril'la vanished. She was the last Dragon Warrior, (the rest of them died during the war) and no new ones appeared until Aidene, another girl from the same world as Charla, came and became a Dragon Warrior. Now why is that? you shall have to read and see... :D

But you don't really get answers until book 3, Hero, so. I better get writing.
I'm also considering writing a prequel series about her :D

I discovered the joy making memes about my book, so I would like to share some of my better ones :)

The plot of Warrior in a meme format.๐Ÿ˜›
Maybe I should use this instead of writing a blurb for Warrior. XD

 c'mon, Vivi, you drama queen.

I really like this meme format. XD

I also drew this real quick, it's sort of a meme?

Very Tired CรฉliaTM

Very un-elf like behavior, Arrow. Elves (or half elves) do not submit to flower crowns!

This is like my fav pic of Aidene. XD

Amethyst being terrified of lizards, and Matheo tied to a chair because he was being annoying. (aka he's snarky and Aidene had enough)

And I made a few aesthetics :D

(this post just keeps getting longer and longer lol I hope you don't mind i love my book.)

I'm actually pretty proud on how I balanced the gold/fire with the purple :D

(I should prolly choose between the person or the drawing huh.)

Matheo's are a work in progress, and I haven't started the others yet.

Well, I think that's all I have for now. I hope you enjoyed that little peak, and I hope I can make some good progress writing them, because my birthday in on Monday (I'm gonna buy a mermaid tail with my birthday money! yeeess, I'll be 17, is that a problem? it means I won't grow out of so it'll last longer, it's an advantage really...) and I'm starting school after that. Help. (I'm starting 12th grade. why am I so old. O_O)

The ask a reader tag

story-tag(2)

Hey everyone!
So, vbs went like this;
Olive: thrived
Ivy: hung in the back and survived

And camp went like this this;
Olive: tried to survive
Ivy: thrived

My social battery was MAXED OUT in like 3 days, but a stomach bug gave me an excuse to spend half a day alone in my dorm, so that gave me the energy to finish the week running (why would i run) at a swift walk. ๐Ÿ˜
And vbs was super fun, but I'll talk about that and camp later, because today I'm doing the Ask a Reader Tag by the lovely Charis!
(the image above is hers, isn't it beautiful?)

And so we go!

1. What sparked your love for reading?
 ¯\_(ใƒ„)_/¯
I don't know. I've been devouring books for as long as I can remember.

2. Where do you get your books?
The library, or I ask for them for my birthday and Christmas, or if there's any good ones left on the $5 a box day at the library book sale.

3. Where do you read?
I prefer this big love seat we have, it's a used to be white with faded pink rose clusters on it. When I look at it through other peoples eyes, it's hideous, but its soo comfy. ๐Ÿ˜Š

4. When do you read?
WHENEVER.
I start it in the morning when I get up, (or the afternoon) and I don't stop reading it until bedtime, (10:00pm) or if it's really suspenseful or I'm almost done, I'll turn on my small light and either finish it, or read until 11:15-11:30 because them I'm too tired and I have to stop.

Hey, I get up at 6:00am.

5. What genres do you read?
Fantasy, fantasy, and fantasy. But I'll read some historical fiction, and I've started checking out an occasional sci-fi from the library. I prefer my sci-fi as movies/tv shows, but it can make some good books. (check out The Last Day on Mars! such beautiful writing๐Ÿ˜)

6. What are your favorite childhood reads?
I remember eating up the American Girl books, as well as Percy Jackson, and I loved listening to my mom read Narnia, though I didn't like reading it myself.

7. What are your favorite books?
You asked for it....
(in no particular order)
Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Keeper of the lost cities, Eragon, the Rangers apprentice, Homeless bird, The Missing, Pendragon,  The hunger games, Harry Potter, the Hobbit, Lord of the rings, Wings of fire, Fablehaven, the Star of Kazan, Journey to the river sea, A Wrinkle in time, Where the mountain meets the moon, Shadows and Secrets, and The Last Day on Mars are all I can think of right now. ๐Ÿ˜›

8. Do you read fast or slow?
Fast. I mean, I tried to be slow when I was re-reading the Eragon series recently, but I still finished the biggest in 2 days, lol.

9. Do you set reading goals? What are they?
Nope.

10. How do you track your reads?
I don't. Why bother?

11. Do you binge-read?
Does binge-reading mean reading a book in a day, than reading its sequel the next day, and then the next book the next day, and so on? Because if yes, than I binge-read as much as possible.

12. Do you fall in love with characters?
Ohhh yes. Very much yes. ๐Ÿ˜„

13. Do you buddy read?
Not really. (but then, I have a very shaky definition of what 'buddy reading' is)

14. Do you re-read?
Yes! A very large portion of my reading is re-reads. ๐Ÿ™‚

15. What's the best thing about being a reader?
Hmm. I think the best part is being able to get to know these people, these characters, to get a peek into their worlds and their minds, and go on their adventures with them. And even when they're labeled 'fiction' it's not fiction to me.
....which my siblings use in their arguments on why I should be sent to the loony bin. *sigh* I need my back up. Why do my fellow book dragons live so far away? My siblings are too numerous and too fast to eat without back up. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I shall tag anyone who thinks 'book dragon' fits us much better than 'book worm'
๐Ÿฒ
For all of you tagged, here are the questions:

1. What sparked your love for reading?
2. Where do you get your books?
3. Where do you read?
4. When do you read?
5. What genres do you read?
6. What are your favorite childhood reads?
7. What are your favorite books?
8. Do you read fast or slow?
9. Do you set reading goals? What are they?
10. How do you track your reads?
11. Do you binge-read?
12. Do you fall in love with characters?
13. Do you buddy read?
14. Do you re-read?
15. What's the best thing about being a reader?

Have a great day, I love ya'll!

Look who's back from the dead. (spoiler, it's me)

So, You want to go to Assateague, right?

Because there's wild ponies/horses there, right?

And you might get to seen one, right?

Because it's so cool, right?

AND THERE SO CUTE AND AMAZING, RIGHT?

Stupid ponies.

Now, we're not idiot campers. We've gone camping once a year for several years now, often in the mountains, where we have to be careful of bears. There was this one place where we couldn't go 10 feet before getting reminded to be careful of bears in our food. (The first thing we did when we got there was spill a huuuuuge bag of trail mix but it was alright nothing happened) but with bears, they wait until you're gone, or asleep before looking for food. But ohhhh no. These ponies are RUDE.
So, all the warnings we see are warning you not to leave food out overnight, and don't take in the tents because they'll smell it, but most of the warnings are for idiots who want to walk up and pet them, take a close up selfie, and for goodness sake they have teeth and are not afraid to use them. But we all knew that.
So anyway, it's the second day I think, and we were finishing up lunch, so all our food is out next to and on the table, excepts for the cooler, which was under the table. (Thank goodness it was) Most of us kids were finished, and we had sat down in a circle to play mafia. (we played it a lot when we were there, its so much funner with more people) since its mafia, we had our eyes shut. We didn't see the ponies until almost the last minute, three of them, a little taller than me, heading straight towards us. Of course the little kids were scared.
They were instantly up, yelping and squealing an little kid frightened noises, running towards my dad while he tried to shush them. I was terrified, (when something big and heavy ad taller than you is approaching and you're on the ground, it looks very intimidating) and after a blank moment started trying to figure out if we could outrun a pony over those sand dunes and get to the bathrooms. They were cinder block buildings, and heavy doors that opened outward, so it would hold against a pony. (I'm pretty sure) I was helping herd them all away from the camp to a sand dune farther away. I had decided that the little kids would be the biggest problem, since they can't run as fast, the sand dunes are terrible footing, and its almost slower carrying them.
Luckily it wasn't necessary. ๐Ÿ˜›

This is about how far away we were. They ate everything on the table, and what they could get out of the buckets. One of the buckets was shut, they just kicked it over and kept kicking it until the lid fell off. (They cracked the lid almost in half) they ate a bag of carrots, plastic and all, an entire bag of apples, (that made my dad mad, he was going to grab one when he noticed them coming) all the bread, the gluten free pretzels, (that made Ivy mad) the marshmallows, (that made EVERYONE mad) and everything else except the cheerios, which they couldn't open. (that made ME mad. No-body and no-thing touches my food)
a few of us went down to parking lot, where Hazel's mom was, (I forgot what she was doing) and told her what happened, and SHE got mad, because they were so rude, and also her husband and two smallest kids were in one of the tents, and that scared me, because she had said that the ponies trample people's tents sometimes. Then Hazel's dad woke up and came out of the tent, right next to a pony. ๐Ÿ˜ณ
It was a very nerve wracking ordeal.
This lady who worked there showed up, and she tried scaring them away, but when they left, it was only because they had eaten everything.
The parents then talked with the lady for a bit, and she told us about one time she cooking in the back of a trailer, when a pony came up and head butted her, so she got pushed ten feet away and fell over, while the pony ate what she was cooking. She also laughed at us for thinking they wouldn't come up and scare you away, and to add insult to injury, told us kids that we had to fill up our little holes, because a pony or person might break a leg.
The parents realized that she was right, and told us to go fill them up, and we were scowling indignantly because they weren't holes they were nests and we had been driven out of our native habitat the previous year and were struggling to find a new home, and we hadn't had enough food for months and it was nesting season and the lack of food meant much less eggs than normal, and now they had hatched, and we were struggling to feed them, they were starving and then a plague came and that paired with the lack of food wiped out half the hatchlings, and now this human wanted to take away the only home our babies ever knew? Where would they live? But we still had to fill up the holes, so we did, and relocated our surviving imaginary hatchlings somewhere else.

Yes, I'm a teen.
Yes, I play games like that still.
Yes, the story is a group effort so
No, we usually have no idea where its going to end when we start, and
No, the death toll is not normally that high. ๐Ÿ˜†

Anyway.

So! Sorry for leaving so long, after the whole week of vacation, we spent a week sick, (but not meee still not sure how I avoided that one) and then I was too lazy to blog, and then the laptop wouldn't work. But now it will, and I'm making myself write this because VBS is starting next week (finishing this post it starts this evening) and after that I'm going to camp again, (anyone remember when I went, two years ago?) but Ivy is coming this time. She's super excited.
I also took ZERO photos the entire trip but my mom took some, so I'm using them in this post. (thanks mom!)

But let me tell you about Assateuge!

This was in May, and we drove up to Hazel's. Bubbles had her birthday at their house, and we set out the next morning for Assateuge. The drive was really cool, and we went over a lot of bridges. I liked it, Thorin didn't.
When we first stepped out of the van, the first thing we noticed was the wind. It was SO windy. I found it exhilarating, and even after a few days of it, the only thing I didn't like about it was my slightly chapped face. That was also why I didn't take any pictures of the dolls we brought, it would have been IMPOSSIBLE to stand them up.
Our campsite wasn't that far from the parking lot, but with the dunes and shifting sand, it seemed a lot farther than it was. If you ran, it was a little faster, but you had to walk at least one way, because running against the wind was almost slower than walking, it was that windy.
It was difficult putting up the tents, but the parents got them mostly behind this big sand dune, and we helped put all our backpacks in the corners to help hold them down. Even being protected, I still spent the first night with a curved overhang of tent wall over me. That first night we didn't get to bed until late, and we were to tired to really do anything than argue over the blankets and end up sprawled all over the place. The next night we actually planned out where everyone was, and made sure everyone had enough blankets, except for me, because on that first night I had ended up with only one blanket, a really large fuzzy one, and I slept with one end under me and the other folded over for covers and I was fine. The sand was so soft, I slept better than any other camping trip we've been on. Ivy had another blanket like mine and was freezing, so she got more blankets for the second night. I guess thats what you get when you're not a living heater. ¯\_(ใƒ„)_/¯
But we read Percy Jackson, and played with princess dolls by flashlight, and had a grand old time.
Have I mentioned that sand? We had a lot of fun in the dunes, (we found this particularly large one that blocked the wind entirely, that was where we dug the holes for our nests) and i already told you about how comfortable it is to sleep on, but it got all in the tents no matter how careful you where, and it made my ankles so tired form trudging in it everywhere that by the end of our stay, I have now sampled Anakin's view on sand.

We went on this walk, on a board walk that you could see very far from. The wind had slowed after the first day, but it never stopped, and it was still very breezy.
We found this place, it was this huuuuuuuuge inlet of water, and it never got above my knees.
It was warm, the sun was shinning, and I kept intending to see how far I could wade out before it got deeper than my knees but I kept getting tired or distracted. So that never got finished. ๐Ÿ˜›
when we were coming back from the walk, we started going to the car, one of Hazel's little sisters was walking barefoot, she stepped into the grass, stood stalk still and started screaming. The grass was full of these little prickle things, like a pea with thorns. Princess also stepped in them, since they were the only two who wouldn't put their shoes on after we got out of the water. So that was fun. ๐Ÿ˜‘

It got really pretty when it got sunny. ๐ŸŒ…

(the one on the left is Daisy)

It was still too cold to go in the water though.

We went on a walk down the beach, I love walks like that. ๐Ÿ™‚๐ŸŒŠ

While we walked, we played a game that we had lived by the coast our whole lives, and we fished for a living, only going to school occasionally. The most exciting part was when we caught a shark, and sold it to buy a better boat. ๐Ÿ˜›

But eventually we had to leave. Hazel and her family went home, and we dropped by Oma's, since we were pretty close by.
(I'm to the left in the hat, Princess is in the pink behind me, Ivy is in blue on the right, and the other two are Bubbles and Wacko)

We also went to an aquarium, and Thorin was our own personal tour guide, he literally knew everything a tour guide could have told us.

Daisy also took some selfies with Oma's cat. ๐Ÿ˜›

I think I'm about done here.
Vbs starts today, I'm going to be helping the kids learn the moves to the songs. Search 'game on vbs 2018' if you want to check out the songs, we'll be doing 'we have hope' and 'joy' as well as the theme song. It's going be fun! (and totally terrifying)
And then camp next week, (even more terrifying) so I won't be posting for about two weeks, but I have pictures from a bird sanctuary we visited, and a photoshoot planned, so I'll post after I get back. ๐Ÿ™‚
I'm considering getting an instagram account for this blog, because I'd like that better than writing blog posts. I'd still have this blog, and I'd post on it occasionally, but it would mostly be on instagram. The problem is that several of you don't have/aren't allowed an instagram, so you'd be missing out, and I don't want that. ☹️

Anyway, have an amazing day everyone!
Bye,
