Hey everyone!
So I was like, "lets post more!" and my laptop was like, "yes!" "but we're going on vacation!" I said, "then bring me!" my laptop said, so I brought it! and typed up this post! "now save and post!" I said, "LOL, no!" my laptop said! and proceeded. to delete. the post.
Aaaaaaand decided to be wonky, so I couldn't get it to work until I got home. greeeeeaaaaaaat.
So sorry about that! And this post is for my nano project for this year, hopefully I can get it out of my head, so I can work on finishing my star wars fanfic novel.
So, here are the questions!
1. What inspired the idea for your novel, and how long have you had the idea?
It's been simmering in the back of my mind for a loooooong time, but I thought of most of it one morning in the shower, and that afternoon I walked up and down the driveway, plotting.
2. Describe what your novel is about!
Well, its about this girl, who's a bookworm, and ends up in a fantasy world, and gets a dragon. She goes to help rescue her new friend's brother, and later ends up saving the world. It's a little blurry, but I'm in the process of clearing it up.
3. What is your book's aesthetic? Use words or photos or whatever you like!
4. Introduce us to each of your characters!
The main character is 14 years old, and I don't have a name for her yet, but she has brown hair, glasses, and is, like I said, a bookworm. She's shy, and prefers to keep her mouth shut and observe before speaking. She's very attached to her dragon, and loves to fly with her. She's very caring, and will never leave anyone behind, even if she doesn't know them well.
Aya (eye-ah) is her dragon. I'm not completely sold on the name, but it will do for now. Aya is very independent, rather bold and sarcastic. She's very protective of the main character, and would destroy the entire world to keep her safe.
Mira is a tiny, sweet girl of 13. She's very kind and compassionate, also down to earth and prefers home to anyplace else. She quickly befriends the main character, and trusts her enough to ask for help to find her brother, when he appears to be captured by mountain trolls. (They find him...sorta.)
Mira's brother doesn't have a name yet. He's 15, and his personality is kind of odd, but he pretty much just acts casual and confident about everything, and not much seems to rattle him. He causes a heck a lot of trouble though, for everybody.
I need another character....but I'm not sure who else they need.
Oh well, these will do for now.
5. How do you prepare to write? (Outline, research, stocking up on chocolate, howling, etc.?)
A little bit of everything. Especially howling. 😆
6. What are you most looking forward to about this novel?
Finishing it.
7. List 3 things about your novel's setting.
Deep forests, the dragon mountains, and a cliche evil fortress, a big black spiky castle with lots of lava. Like I said, it's cliche, but it serves its purpose.
8. What's your character's goal and who (or what) stands in the way?
My main character's goal is to help Mira get her brother back, or at least find out what happened to him. What stands in the way is about half the country, (it's along trip) and the fact that he's at the evil sorcerer's personal castle.......aaaaaand maybe the fact that he doesn't even want to be rescued. *rubs hands together evilly* I told you he was trouble. 😸
9. How does your protagonist change by the end of the novel?
By the end of the novel, she should be a budding warrior, and have heard at least a few tales of the legendary warrior, Charla seelom, and her dragon, Sheeril'la. (In book two she will have heard much more, and maybe figure out who she is, or maybe it will happen in book three. Not sure yet.)
10. What are your book's themes? How do you want readers to feel when the story is over?
Ooooh, my readers are going to be so mad! A nice happy ending- AND THEN THE EPILOGUE!!! *laughs evilly while thunder booms*
I'm getting to be dangerous, folks.
Beware.
😳
(better keep me away from Madi, or I'll get worse)😂
Well, I'll be off. See you later!
Are you doing nanowrimo? What do you think of my book? Does your laptop/computer/device ever act wonky for no reason?
Do you find it difficult to name your characters?
